I’ve got a VX8700, … I’ve got a VX8700, and I think this review is pretty accurate. Bought the phone to replace one of two RAZR v3’s, and it’s been a pretty good swap. The camera and video is actually useful, whereas the RAZR camera was crap. SD memory accounts for that. I was annoyed with the ringtones, but if you do the pic msg trick, that can get you the custom tones you want. The keypad is the worst part; wannabe RAZR style, but hard to use whereas the RAZRs was accurate. Overall, it’s a decent phone.
He i’m getting mine … He i’m getting mine off ebay in a couple of days, just wondering..How’s the battery life on this phone?! It seems to be a little bit bad being that it only has 200 min. talk time and the average phone has at least 300..How do you feel about the battery life of this phone?!?!?
-I’m thinkin of getting an extended battery for it too, looks kinda cool with it =)

well i have one … well i have one from bell but the buttons are not bad and m y fingers arn’t that small. the sd card doesn’t come out for me all that much and on my 8700 i can change the screen brightness.

Yes you can turn it … Yes you can turn it back on. I just searched on “Turn off EDVO” along with what ever phone model your trying to work with and found step by step instructions, hope it works for you.
It constantly drops … It constantly drops my Bluetooth connection for no reason. This is the 3rd one I owned and I am switching to the Motorola W755 after a miserable time. I’ve talked to 3 other people that own this phone and have experienced the same problem with the Bluetooth. Other than that this review is right on! Thanks man! Had the Motorola 815 as well..
mine is 50 messages … mine is 50 messages. and all verizon ringtones suck. they want you to buy new ones fromthe store. i plug my alias in every night to charge.
Verizon is the … Verizon is the worst company for phones ever… They make sure you cant send mp3’s using bluetooth or on the computer… there menu crap is really annoying…and there is to much paying involved that i would not put up with… specially with a family plan…
Actually, you can … Actually, you can get custom ringtones! You’ve got to have the Micro SD card, though. Anyway, load the ringtones into “my sounds” folder on the SD card. Then, go to the message menu and create a new picture message. Where it says “sound”, click and find your desired file. Attach this message, and send it to yourself. Then, open your message, click “options” and then choose “save as ringtone”. I think there is one limitation, though, and that is a max filesize of 500kb for sound. Good luck!
Like the phone a … Like the phone a lot more now after shutting off the EVDO for improved battery life. Now it lasts twice as long, and I won’t have to buy the extended battery as I planed to do.

there are way too …
there are way too many ‘little’ probs with the 8700.
And it is impossible to put ringtones on this without buying them.
I miss my erricson, and I can’t wait to destroy this one.
